Adding another feather to its wellness cap, VLCC Bhubaneswar has introduced a wide range of Ayurvedic treatments, including the very popular Kaivalyam, for complete relaxation and rejuvenation. The treatments will be performed by trained and experienced therapists under the supervision of a qualified Ayurvedic physician.

Kaivalyam, meaning ‘absolute liberation/freedom’ is the highlight among all treatments and is a detoxifying ritual that revitalises skin from head to toe. This therapy gives a complete sense of freedom from everyday stress and trauma by imparting immense physical and mental relaxation.

Lasting for an hour, the procedure begins with a foot ritual followed by a massage, which is carried out on a bed made up of medicinal wood that aids in the healing experience.

The entire process is done with healing oils and herbal powders that not only cleanse the skin of its impurities but also promote detoxification, improve blood circulation and provide immense physical relaxation by alleviating fatigue, reducing generalised aches and pains and promoting sound sleep. After herbal exfoliation, steam is given to allow all toxins to diffuse out of the skin. Then, a tamarind yogurt pack is applied all over the body and the treatment finishes with cleaning of the pack followed by a hot shower.

Besides Kaivalyam, there are several other therapies including variety of massages like Abhayangam (ayurvedic massage), Elakizhi, (leave bundle massage) Navrakizhi (rice and milk massage), Udwarthanam (slimming massage), Kaivalyam (anti-tan body polish), Sayujyam (anti-tan body wrap), Kati vasti (back treatment), Netratarpanam (eye treatment) and Nasyam (detoxification therapy). Lasting from 30 to 75 minutes, these therapies would cost somewhere between Rs 1800 and Rs 3500.

Centre Head, Bhubaneswar, Paramjeet Kaur said the Ayurvedic range of treatments will be a value-addition for all their clients as the therapies would aid in relaxation of mind, body and soul.
