Centre writes to state on project delay

The Union Steel Ministry has expressed concern over delay in execution of several steel projects in the State and asked the State Government to submit a detailed report on the obstacles faced by the projects.

In a letter to the Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik on June 5, the Steel Ministry has asked the State Government to furnish all the details on the hurdles faced by  total eight such projects by June 12.

The steel plants include projects by Amtek Metal and Mining Limited, Uttam Galva Steel Limited, Essar Steel Holding Limited, Tata Steel Limited, Posco India, Monet Ispat and Energy Limited, Visa Steel Limited and Jindal Steel and Power Limited.
