NRLM team takes stock of schemes

A team of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) under Rural Development Ministry visited several panchayats of Jeypore block in Koraput to review the progress of works undertaken by various State Government machineries under different schemes.

The team headed by Santosh Srivastava visited Jamunda, Hadia, Dhanpur and Ekamba panchayats and enquired about development works under IAY, NREGS, rural road and housing, water and sanitation, social welfare and pension schemes. The team  members verified the documents of different departments and cross-checked it with the beneficiaries on the spot.

They also visited the house construction sites under IAY and interacted with the tribal SHG groups about their performance. The tribal beneficiaries appealed to the team members to take steps for providing the IAY funds speedily by the block officials.

The NRLM is an independent body and its team would submit the report on performance of the government agencies in implementation of the welfare schemes in the KBK region to Central Rural Ministry for the latter’s perusal.

As the team would stay in KBK region for two more days, the government officials are busy in updating the files for verification of the Central team.
