Response to certain self-financing courses in Sambalpur University this time has not been very encouraging. The last date of application to PG courses in the University was Wednesday. The University had this year opted for e-admission process for 2013-14 academic year.
For 30 seats in Post-Graduation Diploma in Computer Application, the University has received just 22 applications, while for PG Diploma in Translation Studies which has 10 seats, only five application forms have been received.
Worse, for 16 seats in Diploma for Sambalpuri Studies only two forms have been submitted. On the other hand, response to core subjects has been overwhelming this time.
For 28 seats in Chemistry, 412 applications have been received, 101 forms for Earth Science which has 16 seats, 223 forms for 32 seats in Mathematics and 536 students have applied for Physics which has 32 seats.
PG Council Chairman Sukhdeb Naik said all the candidates have received their index cards and after verification of the journal numbers, the eligible candidates will be issued their admit cards along with the date of interview.
 The date of entrance examination has already been notified in the prospectus and the date of admission to LLM Course has been postponed as the results of which date for LLB Course is yet to be published.
