The State Government has asked the public sector units (PSUs) to prepare their enterprise resource planning (EPR) for scaling up their activities in open market.
EPR integrates all facets of operations including product planning, manufacturing, material procurement, inventory control, distribution, accounting, marketing, finance and human resource, sources in the Public Enterprises department said.
Chief Secretary BK Patnaik, who reviewed the performance of 24 PSUs which have signed MoUs with their respective administrative department, asked them to expand their business operations to open market and not depend only on captive purchase by Government.
After evaluation of the performance of the MoUs signed PSUs, an evaluation committee headed by the Chief Secretary, four PSUs - Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (Ipicol), Odisha Forest Development Corporation (OFDC), Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) and Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) were placed in the excellent grade.
The PSUs have been graded on the basis of their performance in terms of target and achievements for 2011-12 stipulated in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the State Government.
Similarly, four other PSUs - Odisha State Seed Corporation (OSSC), Odisha State Cashew Development Corporation (OSCDC), Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) and Odisha State Financial Corporation (OSFC) have earned the ‘very good’ tag.
The Government has accorded ‘good’ grade to eight PSUs - Grid Corporation of Odisha Ltd (Gridco), Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco), Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC), Odisha Agro Industries Corporation (OAIC), Odisha State Beverages Corporation (OSBC), Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation (OLIC) and Odisha Construction Corporation (OCC).
The performance of Agricultural Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (APICOL) has been graded average.
The State Government on Wednesday inked performance MoUs with the 24 PSUs.
Each PSU was given specific set of instructions to scale up their activities during 2013-14.
The Chief Secretary directed the PE Department to include these instructions in the MOUs for 2013-14.
All the PSUs have been advised to complete computerisation of their operations during the current financial year.
