The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) on Saturday demanded a high level probe into the leak of the justice A S Naidu Commission report on the hooch tragedy in Khurda and Cuttack districts last year in which 41 persons were killed.
The commission’s report was submitted to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on April 6 and it should be placed in the Assembly within six months, but it was leaked before that with some political agenda in view, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) general secretary Arjya Kumar Gyanendra said.
Whether the report was leaked with the tacit knowledge of the Chief Minister or he was unaware only a probe can find out, Gyanendra said and added that a sitting judge of the High Court should be requested to conduct the probe.
