More than 60,000 students applied online for admission into Plus Two colleges across the state on the first day the process began on Monday.

A total of 1,359 colleges are participating in the junior college admission this year. Thirty nodal colleges across the State have been identified to facilitate the admission process.

The admission is being conducted by the Department of Higher education (DHE).

The Students Academic Management System (SAMS) is implementing online admission. Students have to apply online for downloading the Common Application Forms (CAF) to be submitted in the colleges. DHE has set up 477 SAMS Resource Centres all over the State.

“This is the first time that so many students have applied on the first day itself. Judging by the response, all the students may finish downloading the forms in one week,” said a Government official.

A total of 3,20,068 seats are available for admission in the junior colleges in the State. The last date for downloading the admission form is June 11.
