More than 62,000 candidates qualified the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) for engineering stream. The results of OJEE were announced by Employment and Technical Education and Training (ETET) Minister Pratap Keshari Deb on Thursday.

Of total 1,02,525 students who enrolled for OJEE, 95,278 appeared for the entrance test. While Bhubaneswar’s Sansit Patnaik topped in the engineering stream, Anuva Aishwarya is topper in women category. The results were uploaded by the OJEE on its website by Thursday evening.

In pharmacy stream, Siba Narayan Padhi topped the test in general category and Sibani Mishra in women category. For pharmacy stream, 19,086 candidates qualified the test.

While Ankit Tripathy is the topper in general category in MBA stream, Banani Sarangi topped in women category. A total of 7,062 candidates qualified the entrance test.

This year, OJEE conducted the entrance for Masters in Applied Management (MAMM) for the first time. Avinash Jena topped the MAM entrance for which only 15 students had applied. Lack of awareness of the new dual degree management programme was the reason of poor show of applicants. OJEE also conducted the BArch entrance test after a gap of two years in which 16,822 students qualified.

Even as 10,247 students had appeared for the Bachelors in Ayurvedic Medicine stream, only 654 students qualified the test. Similarly, 10,304 students appeared for Bachelors in Homeopathic Medicine but only 654 qualified for it.

More than 16,000 students have qualified the lateral entry entrance test for BTech courses. Jyoti Bikash Prusty emerged as topper in LETech stream.

More than 19,400 candidates from outside the State had appeared for the OJEE this year. Deb said the results were declared within 18 days of the entrance test to provide a level playing field for the students to apply wherever they wanted.

He also said the State Government will take a strict view of the technical institutes which are flouting the norms of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).  OJEE has done away with negative marking for this year’s examination.

The rank card of the students will be uploaded by OJEE and the candidates can download them directly from OJEE official website.
