Even as State Government announced a Judicial Commission for probe into chit fun frauds, City Police arrested yet another director of Artha Tatwa Group. Manoj Patnaik headed the gold loan section of AT Group. He was named in first FIR which was filed against AT Group by retired DSP Sukumar Panigrahy but had managed to get bail.
In a separate case, two miscreants served a drug-laced drink to a jeweller and robbed him on Thursday. Surya Narayan Senapati, who owns Senapati Jewellery near Khandagiri Square, had two customers who wanted to order items worth Rs 20,000. They served him cold drink. The jeweller lost his consciousness and by the time he regained sense,he had lost goldrings and necklace. A case has been lodged by Khandagiri Police.
