One Arjun Moharana, who was admitted to MKCG Hospital here on Saturday after consuming spurious liquor, has lost his vision.
On Saturday, Arjun along with Bino Parida and Narayan Sahu of Banpur was admitted to the MKCG Hospital after they fell ill following consumption of spurious liquor. While Bino died, Arjun and Narayan were under treatment. Later, another Jada Sahu was shifted to the hospital from Banpur.
Sources said Sahu used to sell liquor at Paltanpadia street and on Friday, around 10 persons had taken liquor from his shop.
The same night, one Baikuntha Barik of Bhimpur who was among the 10 persons complained of uneasiness and subsequently died. The others were also taken ill and six of them had to be admitted to Banpur hospital.
While three were subsequently shifted to MKCG, two others including one Sujit Baliarsingh of Narendrapur were shifted to a private hospital at Cuttack.
One month back, two persons of Borigaon in Banpur block had died after consuming liquor. Meanwhile Bino’s family has registered a case against Sahu.
