Results of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations will be announced by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha on Wednesday. The declaration will be made by State School and Mass Education Secretary Usha Padhee at 8 am here and the results will be available to the students from 10 am.
For ease of dissemination of results among more than six lakh students, who had appeared in the exams this year, the BSE will make the scores available across seven websites.
The results will also be available on SMS. Students will have to type ORI10(space)Roll No and send the SMS to 52070 and 58888 for results. They can also be obtained by typing OR10 (space) Roll No and sending it to 5676750 or typing OBSE (space) Roll No and sending it to 54242.
The results of all streams including regular, ex-regular and correspondence courses for matriculation examinations, 2014 and the Madhyama examinations will be announced simultaneously, BSE president DP Nanda said. For the first time, the performance of students will assessed through grades and not marks. While there will be no toppers list this year, the students will be rated on nine Grade parameters basing on the performances.
The grades would range from A (91-100 marks), B (81-90), C (71-80), D (61-70), E (51-60), F (41-50), G (31-40), H (21-30) and I (11-20).
"However, the individual subject-wise marks will be reflected in their marksheets. The students will also get their marks along with their results on the websites on Wednesday. The marksheets will be provided to the students along with certificates at their schools from May 10", Nanda said.
The certificates from this year will be in laminated form with special security imprints like 3D hologram and invisible signatures. The HSC exams were conducted across 2,737 centres from February 25 to March 8 this year.
