BHUBANESWAR: More than 60 candidates from the Capital City have qualified the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced conducted for admission into the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
As many as four students of city-based schools here managed to secure ranks in three digits. Sattwick Deb Mishra of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur secured All India Rank (AIR) 131 in the JEE Advanced. He is followed by Debarnab Mitra of DAV Public School, Pokhariput who secured AIR 168, Rajsekhar Mohapatra of Mother’s Public School who secured AIR 278 and Diptiranjan Sahoo of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur who secured AIR 807 in the JEE Advanced.
Twenty-nine students from DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur qualified for admission into IIT. Similarly, 25 students from Mother’s Public School and 10 students from DAV Public School, Pokhariput qualified the entrance test. Out of 1.5 lakh students, who appeared at the JEE Main test, only 3,200 students from the State qualified for the JEE Advanced. Admission to 9,784 seats in different IITs and Indian School of Mines will take place through the JEE Advanced rank card.
Choice locking for different courses and institutes will begin from June 20 and continue till June 24. The students wanting to take admission into BArch courses in IITs will have to appear for the Architect Aptitude Test (AAT) scheduled for June 26. AAT results will be declared on June 29.
