BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked all the departments concerned to complete infrastructure work for Nabakalebara festival by May.
The slow pace of doubling of railway line between Puri-Bhubaneswar and widening of the Puri-Bhubaneswar highway was reviewed at the meeting. Doubling of railway line between Delang-Sakhigopal (12 km) has already been completed while the work between Sakhigopal-Puri (17 km) will be over by May. The doubling of railway line will be reviewed by the Railway Safety Commissioner in May end.
Official sources said slab casting for railway over bridge (ROB) near Malatipatpur station has already started and work will be over by April. The Yatri Nivas being constructed by the Railways at Puri will be completed by June while work for construction of two more platforms at Puri railway station will be over by March end.
Doubling of railway line between Cuttack-Barang and Rajatgarh-Barang has been completed and awaiting inspection of the Railway Safety Commissioner. The new bus stand being constructed at Malatipatpur will also be over by May.
According to official sources, out of 21 roads being executed by the Works department, 12 have been completed and work on nine is in progress. Construction of seven out of 13 roads in Puri town has already been completed. The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the rest of road construction work by May.
Pipili-Nimapara flyover, bridge on Kushabhadra river on Baliguali road and railway overbridges on National Highway 203 will be completed by June. Out of the 21 parking places identified in Puri town, work on nine has already been completed. Work on 12 parking places will be completed by June.
