BHUBANESWAR: Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) on Wednesday delegated all its powers and responsibilities pertaining to building plan approvals, sub-divisional (lay-out) plans and authority to deal with unauthorised constructions to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Department had recently issued a notification in this regard.

The BMC will soon constitute a Multi-Agency Building Permission Committee (MABPC), which will be headed by the Municipal Commissioner.

All the applications of building plan approval will now be placed before the MABPC for consideration and consent.

The power to deal with unauthorised constructions under Orissa Development Authority Act will now be exercised by the Municipal Commissioner or any other officer who has been duly authorised by him.

Besides, BDA’s agreement with private vendor VFS Global for process management of building and layout plan approvals will be applicable with BMC.
