Twins success: Deevyanshu tops, brother Deeptanshu bags 226 rank

BHUBANESWAR: Twin brothers Deevyanshu Malu and Deeptanshu Malu of KiiT International School (KIIT-IS) have scripted success in JEE (Advanced) 2022, results of which were declared by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, on Sunday.

Deevyanshu has topped the Odisha ranks while obtaining the 11th position in the Common Rank List (CRL). His brother Deeptanshu, younger by a minute, has got an impressive 226 rank.

Deevyanshu also stood second in the IIT Bhubaneswar zone in the exam. He plans to pursue a career in computer science at IIT Bombay. Deeptanshu plans to make a career in the field of research in Mumbai.
Earlier, the twins had also performed exceptionally well in the JEE (Main) in which Deevyanshu had topped the State with 99.989 percentile, while Deeptanshu had scored 99.937 percentile. Besides, Deevyanshu won a gold medal in an International Physics Olympiad in Mumbai this year.

The proud parents said both the brothers used to study for around 10 hours a day. “It is indeed a proud moment for all of us as Deevyanshu has made the State proud with his impeccable performance,” said KIIT & KISS founder Achyuta Samanta, congratulating all KIIT-IS students who cracked the prestigious test, scores of which are used for admission to IITs as well as other participating institutions like IISc, IISERs etc.

KIIT-IS officials said Kanishk Modi (CRL 200) and Bidyadhar Sahoo, (CRL 726) of the school have also qualified for the test this year. Atish Kumar Sahoo, a student of Aakash BYJU’S branch at Bhouma Nagar in the city also secured an impressive 311 rank in the exam.

As per JEE (Advanced) results, 92 students from the IIT-Bhubaneswar zone are among the top 500 rank holders nationally. Vetcha Gnana Mahesh with All India Rank 10 topped the Bhubaneswar zone, while Suryansh Srijan (51), Tanish Agarwal (57) and Aditya Prakash (70) are among the top five rank holders. Jahnvi Shaw with 258 rank has emerged as the female topper of the zone.
