Traffic restrictions for Cuttack fair from today

CUTTACK: The Commissionerate Police has imposed traffic restrictions in and around Cuttack city for Balijatra between November 15 and 22.

The restrictions will be in force from 2 pm everyday to ensure better crowd management and smooth vehicular movement. Violation of the traffic curbs will attract a penalty of Rs 500 which may be extended up to Rs 1,000 per offence.

No three or four-wheelers will be allowed to ply from Bellview Chhak (Judicial Academy) towards Balijatra ground via Satichaura.

People are required to take the road though CDA-11 and park their vehicles either at Biju Patnaik park or Bhuasuni field and avail shuttle bus service up to Cantonment police station to reach the fairground.

Similarly, movement of vehicles through Naraj and Madhusudhan Setu has been restricted. People coming from Satichaura Chhak through Shelter Chhak and Kanika Chhak are required to park their two-wheelers at the designated place in front of Daya Ashram or at Kartikeswar Gada.

Movement of three or four-wheelers from Chahata to Balijatra ground will be restricted. Vehicles are to be parked at Bhuasuni field. Only two-wheelers can proceed from Chahata Chhak through Deer Park to reach Kartikeswar Gada parking place. Vehicular movement will be restricted from Deer Park. The vehicles are to be parked at Christian Padia or at Gorakabar ground.

Movement of all vehicles from Madhukunj Park to Balijatra ground has also been restricted. Similarly, vehicles coming from Jobra and Mata Matha will be parked at the opposite side of the Chief Justice’s residence At the time of exit, vehicles will have to use Silver City Boat Club road.
