Land approved for technology centre in Kantajharan

ROURKELA: The Sundargarh district administration has approved the allotment of an additional land parcel of 1.5 acre at Kantajharan for establishment of the proposed technology centre of the Union MSME Ministry.

The Rourkela tehsildar informed the assistant director of Branch MSME-Development and Facilitation office, Rourkela about the approval through a letter on August 4. The letter said in its meeting on July 22, the land allotment committee decided to allot 1.5 acre in addition to the previously earmarked area of 10.50 acre for establishment of the MSME technology centre.

The move comes after Union Tribal Affairs Minister and Sundargarh MP Jual Oram urged his MSME counterpart Jitan Ram Manjhi to take urgent review of the project, expediting land allotment, construction, and implementation.

Expressing satisfaction at the additional allotment of land, Oram said the proposed technology centre will strengthen the MSME ecosystem in western Odisha by promoting advanced manufacturing, skill development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and employment opportunities for the youths.

Oram further informed that the proposal for expansion of Rourkela airport is progressing well and is expected to be placed before the Union Cabinet for approval soon.
