BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi endorsed the BJP’s resolution, reaffirming its commitment to preserve the honour, dignity and historic legacy of national song Vande Mataram.

Taking to X, Majhi said, “Vande Mataram is not merely a song but an enduring symbol of India’s freedom struggle, the sacrifices of countless patriots and the nation’s deep reverence for Bharat Mata.”

He said the party has firmly resolved to safeguard the sanctity and complete form of Vande Mataram. “Any attempt to dilute its significance or curtail its historic importance for political appeasement or vote-bank considerations must be opposed,” Majhi added.

Recalling the role played by Vande Mataram in inspiring people during the freedom movement, the CM said its legacy continued to evoke national pride and strengthen the country’s collective resolve.

He also linked the enduring spirit of the national song with the country’s development journey, saying Vande Mataram would continue to inspire citizens as India moves towards the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Concluding his post with Vande Mataram, Majhi said the historic and emotional significance attached to the song must continue to be honoured and preserved for future generations.

The BJP resolution comes amid renewed emphasis on the historical legacy and complete rendition of Vande Mataram which played a significant role in mobilising nationalist sentiment during India’s freedom struggle.
