BHUBANESWAR: Chief secretary Anu Garg on Wednesday stressed the need for inter-departmental coordination, use of technology, regular monitoring and time-bound implementation of projects to achieve the goals of Viksit Odisha.
Presiding over the all-secretaries meeting at the Lok Seva Bhawan here, Garg emphasised that the benefits of development must reach people at the grassroots.
The meeting reviewed the progress of administrative and legal reforms being undertaken by the government under “Ease of Doing Business 2.0”. Additional chief secretary, Industries, Hemant Sharma presented the steps taken by various departments in this regard.
The discussion covered simplification of approval processes, removal of unnecessary approval stages, declaration-based systems, the Jan Vishwas 2.0 Bill and facilities for MSMEs. The chief secretary directed all departments to complete the reform measures within the stipulated time-frame.
Commissioner-cum-secretary in the Mission Shakti department, Mansi Nimbhal presented various success stories related to women’s economic progress, integrated skill development, and women’s empowerment through ‘Subhadra - Lakhpati Didi’ initiative.
She also discussed the upcoming action plan to further accelerate women’s economic growth through the Subhadra Shakti, Udyogpati Didi, market linkage, e-commerce, producer groups, financial assistance and women entrepreneurship.
The meeting also reviewed measures to involve self-help groups (SHGs) more actively in government work. Garg advised all departments to expand these initiatives and regularly update data through the Digital Convergence Portal.
