CHENNAI: Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) president Vijayakanth, a strong critic of dynastic politics, has fielded his brother-in-law for the newly created Kallakurichi constituency in the Lok Sabha elections on May 13.
In what could be viewed as the first official entry of his family members into the poll fray, Captain, who doesn’t miss a chance to take a dig at the leaders of the DMK or the PMK for roping in their kith and kin to politics, has nominated L K Sudeesh, the brother of Vijayakanth’s wife Premalatha.
Sudeesh had accompanied Panruti S Ramachandran, presidium chairman of the DMDK, to New Delhi recently for holding talks with Congress leaders regarding electoral alliance.
He was also on the panel of members who interviewed candidates seeking a party ticket for the polls.
A graduate from Pachaiyappa’s College, Sudeesh has produced several movies starring Vijayakanth, under the banner of Captain Cine Creations.
