CHENNAI: Chief Minister M Karunanidhi delivered a ‘healthy’ advice at the release of a stamp on the birth centenary of Vethathiri Maharishi here on Saturday. He received the stamp from Union Minister A Raja.

He advised people to do proper physical and breathing exercises for a healthy body, an idea he himself endorsed.

“By living longer, we can serve our country longer,” the Chief Minister said.

On the spiritual side, he asked people not to waste time looking for God outside their body as the divine presence resided in ones heart.

Vedathiri Maharishi, who followed the path of Ramalinga Adigalar, guided the people away from mythological stories and rumours.

Earlier, a senior police officer in charge of the security arrangements blocked the entry of reporters and photographers to the venue saying the State accreditation card was not valid as an identity card. He even went to extent of saying that he did not have any knowledge of such a card being issued by the State Government. He insisted that only the ID card issued by the organisers would be valid. But an organiser came to the rescue of mediapersons and allowed them inside.
