COIMBATORE: Students and teachers of Kovai schools paid homage to the children who were murdered by van driver and his accomplice the other day.

Muskan (10) and her brother Rithik (7) were abducted by call taxi drivers when they were going to school on October 29 and were murdered brutally.

The students and teachers of government, Corporation and private schools in the city came to schools wearing black badges mourning the death of the students on Monday.

In some of the schools, the students and teachers paid homage to the students by lighting candles.

Paying respect to the deceased students, Suguna Rip V Matriculation School in Gandhipuram, in which they were studying, had announced leave on Saturday and Monday.

The autorickshaw drivers of Saibaba Colony also paid tributes to the students by holding a candle light procession on Monday evening.

The merchants of Range Gowder street and Sukravarpettai kept their shops closed for two days taking part in the grief of the children’s family who are residents of the area.

Meanwhile, AIADMK MLAs T Malaravan, S M Veluchamy, S P Velumani, Chinnaraj and Prema visited the house of murdered children and consoled the family members.
