MADURAI: An 18yearold girl who was in the guise of police woman was arrested on charges of cheating the public, here on Tuesday. She was remanded on Wednesday.
A Rani (name changed), of Sellur in Madurai, was moving as a police woman near Karimedu area on Tuesday evening.
On information from a policeman, the Karimedu police apprehended the teen.
But, a higher police officer alleged that she had illicit relation with some policemen in the city after she had developed a contact with a police driver.
Meanwhile, her contacts with the policemen had also grown.
When Rani went to a function in Reserve Line, she met a policeman and developed contact with him and also three of his police friends.
Meanwhile, the girl's father lodged a complaint with the Tallakulam olice station stating that his daughter was on the wrong track wearing the police uniform.
On Tuesday, the girl and the police driver with whom she had contact met near Karimedu. Following heated arguments between the two, he informed the police about Rani and her illegal ways.
The girl was arrested and a case was registered against her on the charges of cheating the public under the guise of police woman.
