

TIRUCHY: Chief Minister M Karunanidhi who invested the 2G spectrum money into various business had earned more than Rs 5 lakh crore and the people of Tamil Nadu are preparing themselves to remove the family rule as had happened in Egypt, AIADMK general ssecretary J Jayalalithaa said at Gandharvakottai in Pudukkottai district on Monday.
Jayalalithaa, who commenced her campaign in Pudukkottai district in her address at Gandharvakottai promised a cashewnut factory, a modern bus stand , government Arts College, Polytechnic in Gandharvakottai. She said that the spirit unit which was posing problems to the people, would be closed down.
The AIADMK leader charged that Karunanidhi brought shame to Tamil Nadu through 2G scam which hit hard nation’s economy and security. “By investing Rs 1.80 lakh crore earned through spectrum scam in various business, Karunanidhi earned more than Rs 5 lakh crore,” Jaya alleged.
Charging Former Union Minister A Raja bought lands from the poor farmers in Perambalur at Rs ` 60,000 per acre, Jaya said, Raja sold those lands to a corporate house at Rs 18 lakh per acre within a few months thus earned a profit of ` 174 crore.
Karunanidhi was shedding crocodile tears fearing that he would be thrown out of power and he was duping the people by seeking vote to ‘save’ the Tamil race. ‘He is an expert in cheating people’, she added.
She introduced AIADMK candidates N Subramanian (Gandharvakottai), Dr C Vijayabaskar (Viralimalai), P K Vairamuthu (Tirumayam), M Rajanayagam (Aranthangi) and CPI candidate P Muthukumar.
Death of MK’s family associates: Detailing the deaths of close associates of Karunanidhi family, Jayalalithaa said, in 1971-76, when Karunanidhi was the Chief Minister, contractor Sathyan arayana Reddy committed suicide in Veeranam scam. In 1991, the former DGP Durai who was close to Karunanidhi died in mysterious circumstances. During 1996-2001, Ramesh committed suicide in flyover scam and in 2006-11 Sadhick Basha was killed after the 2G scam came to light.
“We do not know how many more people would meet with the same fate,”, she said.
