PUDUCHERRY: Coming from a political family, PRN Thirumurugan, a long-time Congressman, plans to speak up for Karaikal’s development in Assembly.

The 40-year-old was elected from Karaikal North, defeating the AIADMK’s V Omalingam.

His father, Nalamaharaja, had represented Kotucherry three times, first as an Independent and then twice on a Congress ticket.

Thirumurugan, who has worked in various roles within the party, aims to speed up the implementation of several projects announced by the previous government for Karaikal.

Besides, he would work for the betterment of agriculture and agro-based industries while pushing for a well-equipped modern hospital to be set up in the region.

The Congressman said he would work for the improvement of the lives of fishermen, Dalits and muslims in his constituency.
