TIRUNELVELI: “My arrest is nothing but a political vendetta unleashed by the AIADMK government,” said Karuppasamy Pandian, DMK Tirunelveli district secretary.
Pandian, speaking to reporters before being taken to Madurai prison, charged that the State government has been carrying out such arrests on land grab charges against DMK men and reiterated that all this was a “political vendetta.”
“In my 38 years of political career, not a single case has been registered against me,” he said, adding that he or his family members do not even own a cent of land within Tamil Nadu.
The DMK leader also charged the government for carrying out such arrests with an ulterior motive and with the sole purpose of benefiting in the ensuing local body elections.
