

CHENNAI: Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Saturday pardoned her long-time aide V K Sasikala who was expelled from the party on December 19, 2011. However, the AIADMK chief is firm on the expulsion of Sasikala’s relatives, including her husband M Natarajan. “Sasikala has sent me a letter and issued a statement with similar contentions. I accept the explanation given by Sasikala and the disciplinary action taken against her on December 19, 2011 is revoked,” Jayalalithaa said in a statement here.
However, Jayalalithaa has categorically said that action taken against near and dear ones of Sasikala would not be reversed. “There will be no change in disciplinary action taken against M Natarajan, Diwaharan, Sasikala’s brother, T T V Dinakaran, V Bhaskaran, V N Sudhakaran, Dr S Venkatesh, son of Sasikala’s elder brother Sundaravadanan, M Ramachandran, brother of Natarajan, Ravanan, son-in-law of Sasikala’s uncle, Kulothungan, a relative of Natarajan, Rajarajan and Thangamani, relatives of both families, T V Mahadevan, son of Dr Vinodagan who is Sasikala’s brother, MIDAS Mohan, a close friend of Sasikala family, Kaliyaperumal, M Palanivel, Horticulture V Krishnamurthi, Sundaravadanam, his wife Santhanalakshmi and Vaijayanthi Mala.” The AIADMK chief warned party cadre not to have any truck with these persons.
On Wednesday, Sasikala issued a statement disowning her family who have betrayed Jayalalithaa and expressed her desire to be the true sister of Jayalalithaa for the rest of her life.
