AIADMK state secretary A Anbazhagan urged Chief Minister N Rangasamy, who is also in-charge of the health portfolio, to take steps to prevent the spread of dengue here on Monday. Addressing reporters, the Uppalam MLA said the government had failed to initiate preventive measures to contain the disease despite more than 100 people being hospitalised due to dengue fever in Puducherry and Karaikal.
He alleged that the administration had failed to set up a special wing to treat dengue patients in hospitals here. Anbazhagan also rapped the CM for not attending the southern Health Ministers conference on dengue. The public has lost faith in Rangasamy because of this attitude, he said.
