DMK MLA J Anbazhagan, representing Chepauk-Triplicane constituency, was on Wednesday evicted from the State Assembly, leading to a walk-out by his colleagues from the House.  Speaker P Dhanapal, while ordering the eviction of Anbazhagan, said he was addressing him (the Speaker) in an appropriate manner by pointing his hand at him and that such a behaviour went against the norms of the House.

DMK member TRB Raja, participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, spoke about the prevailing power crisis in Tamil Nadu.

Responding, Electricity Minister R Viswanathan said the previous DMK regime was fully responsible for the present crisis and gave details about the efforts taken by the successive AIADMK regime to increase  power generation.

When Viswanathan said “you had hardly found any time for augmenting the power generation since most of your time was spent on setting right the family feuds,” the DMK members strongly objected to this remark and were on their feet. At that time, Anbazhagan was seen standing and making some remarks. After a couple of warnings, the Speaker called in the Marshalls to evict the DMK member.  Following this, other DMK MLAs too staged a walk-out. Earlier, the DMK members staged a walk-out after the Speaker refused to expunge  remarks made by AIADMK Whip Vaigai Chelvan.
