TV personality Nirmala Periyasamy who campaigned for AIADMK candidate M Thambidurai here on Sunday night alleged that the DMK regime did not do anything for the Sri Lankan Tamils and for the coastal fishermen of Tamil Nadu.
She solicited vote for India’s economical development.
During her campaign at Noyyal and Velayudhampalayam in Karur, Nirmala said that Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was a powerful ruler and she could administer well at the Centre. Had there been an able administrator at the Centre, the economic status of the country could have been stabilised, Nirmala said.
She urged members of the public to vote for the AIADMK candidate to make Jayalalithaa the prime minister to steer the economy of India towards development.
She further said that former chief minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi did not take any steps to rescue Tamil fishermen tormenting in Lankan jails. It was during the AIADMK rule several fishermen were released, she added.
She charged that the DMK remained mute when thousands of Tamils were being killed by the Lankan army.
