A man who claims to be a journalist with a weekly magazine was arrested for allegedly attacking a sub-inspector here on Sunday night.
According to Malliakarai police, Manjunath (40), a resident of Keeripatty, claimed to work as a reporter with a weekly magazine, went to the police station around 10 pm on Sunday and tried to photograph the place.
He was allegedly in an inebriated stage. When SI Balasubramaniyam refused to allow him to take pictures, he allegedly attacked the SI.
Police registered a case against Manjunath and arrested him. He was later remanded in prison. “There are 12 such cases against Ma-njunath in the Malliakarai police station,” a senior official told Express.
