Floral tributes marked the death centenary of Thillaiyadi Valliammai, a South African Tamil freedom fighter acknowledged for her role in protesting for equal rights to Indian immigrant labourers in South Africa during the apartheid era. District collector T Munusamy paid homage to the statue of Thillaiyadi Valliammai at Valliammai memorial in Thillaiyadi on Saturday.
