COIMBATORE: Anna University, Chennai, is likely to start issuing application forms for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) 2015, to fill up government quota seats in colleges in the state, from the first week of May.
The TNEA coordination committee, which met on Wednesday, has decided to conduct the single window counselling only at Anna University in Chennai.
The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor M Rajaram, who is the Chairman of TNEA and was attended by Higher Education Secretary Apoorva, Commissioner of Technical Education Praveen Kumar, TNEA Secretary V Rhymend Uthariaraj and other officials.

The committee has decided to follow the TNEA single window counselling procedure, which was followed last year, as it is. The cost of application form was fixed at `500 general and `250 for SCs and STs.
“The Directorate of Government Examination has indicated that the Plus Two results could be published in the second week of May. Normally, we begin issuing application a week before the Plus Two results. So, we have decided to commence the issuing of TNEA - 2015 application forms the first week of May, which will go on till the end of the month,” said a university source said.
“Tentatively, we have planned to commence the single window counselling from July 1. But, it will commence only after the medical counselling,” sources said.
It has also decided to print 2.4 lakh TNEA application forms this year. If needed, more applications would be printed, an official said.
Last year, Anna University has sold nearly 2.15 lakh applications. Out of the 2,11,777 seats which were available under the government quota last year, Anna University allotted 1,10,780 seats.
