KUMBAKONAM: Following the arrangements by the administration for round the clock bathing the devotees are taking bath 24X7 the officials say.
"We could see devotees taking bath at 2 am" said I Jayasekar, the Joint Director of Health Services, Thanjavur district. He said the three medical camps set up around the Mahamaham tank are functioning round the clock and so far 3,000 persons visited these camps.
Besides in all the 44 camps in the Kumbakonam town, the Neelavembu kudineer is being given to patients.
He said many patients forget their medications for hypertension and diabetics and approach the camp for drugs. We give the medicine after measuring their B.P. and blood sugar, he added. The Joint Director advised the patients who visits the Mahamaham festival to have their medicine in their hand or atleast the prescription by their doctors.
