CHENNAI: Seeking to clear the air over the question of DMK president and former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s health condition, his son and party’s working president MK Stalin on Wednesday said the party patriarch was taking rest and doctors were giving treatment for mild fever developed after replacing tracheostomy tube.

He added, “Last week he was admitted to Kauvery Hospital where tracheostomy tube was replaced. Later he returned home. Now, he is taking rest.”
Staling noted that doctors were treating him for fever developed after he was discharged from the hospital. “No shocking information,” he said replying to a question. The messages about Karunanidhi’s health condition began to surface from Tuesday evening as the social media were agog with speculative posts.
However, informed sources said that his health condition was not as good as earlier. Yet, nothing to worry about, they added.
Meanwhile, Karunanidhi’s daughter and Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi rushed back to Chennai from Delhi to visit the five-time Chief Minister who has been remaining indoors since October, 2016.
