The clips should go to forensic lab and the judge should inquire. I didn’t release the third and fourth clips because I didn’t want to make PTR a scapegoat.

CHENNAI:  BJP state president K Annamalai on Friday said part II of ‘DMK files’ which has details about 21 more DMK functionaries and ministers will be released in the first week of July, and part III will be released later.

Annamalai also said he has in possession an hour-long audio clip of former finance minister Palanivel Thiga Rajan speaking about five or six specific issues, and he is ready to submit it before a court if Chief Minister MK Stalin files another defamation case against him.

Annamalai also said he may start his ‘padayatra’ across Tamil Nadu in second week of July.  Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Chennai, Annamalai criticised the CM for shunting PTR out of finance portfolio.

“Because of the audio clips, PTR has been shifted from finance to information technology.  This cannot be accepted because PTR did not commit any misdeed. The misdeeds were committed by the first family of the state.”  Stating that PTR has been a brand ambassador of Dravidian model of governance, Annamalai said the CM, on multiple occasions, had hailed PTR’s work.

Annamalai challenges Stalin

“But now suddenly PTR has been shifted from finance,” he said. Annamalai said the state has already filed a defamation case against him and now he is challenging Stalin to file another defamation case against him over his charges about CM receiving Rs 200 crore in metro rail project and his family members amassing Rs 30,000 crore. “I wish PTR audio clips will come to court.

The clips should go to forensic lab and the judge should inquire. I didn’t release the third and fourth clips because I didn’t want to make PTR a scapegoat. The court should order an independent inquiry into the clips and take action,” Annamalai said.

He also said DMK functionaries and their associates have sent defamation notices seeking damages to the tune of Rs 1,461 crore. “Perhaps, this is the largest damage sought from an individual in the country. Former CM M Karunanidhi once asked where’s BJP? Today, the party has grown to the level of the DMK filing defamation suit seeking Rs 1,461 crore,” Annamalai said. Criticising the allocation of industries portfolio to TRB Rajaa, Annamalai said, “If there is a rule that industries portfolio should be given to the family which has the highest number of industries, then allocation of this portfolio to Rajaa can be justified.”
