VILLUPURAM: Three members of a family died in a road accident at Thenpasiyar village on the Chennai-Trichy National Highway near Mailam on Sunday. Six others, including five in the car and a motorbike rider, sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at Tindivanam GH.
The deceased were identified as Kalpana V Malli (35), G Thirupavai (60), and Govindaraj (65). The car driver, G Venkata Kumar (40), his daughters V Mithula Sri (12) and V Hananya Sri (9), elder sister Brinda (42), and maternal uncle Saravanan (45) were admitted.
The moped rider, Selvam (55) of Thenkalavai village, also sustained injuries and is receiving treatment. Police said Venkata and his family, including his wife, children, mother, father, elder sister, and maternal uncle, had visited the Karuppusami Temple at Valavanur for worship. ENS
