DMK President MK Stalin on Wednesday dubbed the TVK regime's maiden budget as lacking original thinking and one which did not fulfill promises.
The former chief minister said the budget has not uttered a single word about key promises of the TVK which includes Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for women, Rs 4,000 assistance for unemployed youth, six free cooking gas cylinders per year and full crop loan waiver.
Stalin said there is neither original thinking nor fulfilment of promises in the TVK regime's first budget, a damp squib of the "reels government".
Using social media jargons, the DMK chief said for the people who expected it to be a "Blast Blast", it turned out to be a "Waste Waste" and dubbed the budget as a "Remake Version" of the Dravidian model government schemes.
"Blast, blast" was an apparent reference to verses from Vijay's latest and last film in the lead role, 'Jananayagan.'
In a statement, Stalin said it is a budget that shows "zero concern" for issues such as farmers' problems, discrepancies in electricity billing which affects consumers and price rise.
Also, the budget has failed to announce new visionary projects needed for the state, he said.
