HYDERABAD: Three electronic manufacturing clusters each will come up in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Union Telecommunications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad announced.

On the sidelines of addressing party workers here on Saturday, the Union Minister said the proposed facilities would be established in Hyderabad, Medak and Maheshwaram in Telangana. Anantapur, Chittoor and Kakinda in AP will have the clusters.

The Minister said a separate postal circle has been approved and sanctioned for TS and the post of Chief Post Master General has been created for Telangana.

Assuring all help from the Centre to the twin Telugu States, Prasad said the Centre was committed for holistic development of the sibling States. “Whether or not BJP is in power, we support both TS and AP because the people of Telugu States are behind BJP.”

Earlier, the Minister who called on TS and AP Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu separately observed that both of them were competing on development front and said it augurs well for people of both States.

When KCR said the financial aid of ` 165 crore offered by the Centre to the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) project in Hyderabad was inadequate, Prasad asked a formal request to be sent to his ministry from the State.

Further, Prasad said Hyderabad is recognised as a IT hub nationally and internationally. Besides, KCR mentioned about National Geographic identifying Hyderabad as one of the top best places in the world. The new industrial policy enacted by the TS government was brought to the notice of Prasad who appreciated the effort and said he is ready to offer assistance with regard to IT.
