Step-son Kills Woman for Monetary Gain

NIZAMABAD: A woman was murdered allegedly by her step-son for monetary gains in Bikhnoor of Nizamabad district on Sunday.

The accused tried to fool the locals that the death was natural but the murder came to light just minutes before the last rites were to be performed. Locals noticed blood stains on the woman’s head and informed the police, who registered a case.

The victim, O Nagamani (45), was married to Laxman of Bikhnoor. She was the second wife of Laxman, who has a son named Swamy. Nagamani brought up Swamy.

Recently, Laxman died of illness and Nagamani was living with Swamy and his family.

Nagamani, who had a small piece of land in her native place of Thoguta in Medak district, sold the land for which she got `15,000. Ever since, Swamy has been demanding that the money be given to him.

On Sunday morning, Swamy raised an alarm that his step-mother died in her sleep and locals believed his version.

However, during the final rites, locals found blood stains on her head and alerted the police who shifted the body for a post-mortem.

Swamy reportedly confessed to have killed Nagamani.

Swamy hit the woman on the head with a blunt weapon leading to her instantaneous death.

Bikhnoor Police registered a case of murder and are investigating.
