Jayaprakash Reddy May Rejoin Cong

SANGAREDDY:  Former MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy is likely to rejoin Congress.  He contested for Medak Parliamentary constituency last year on the BJP-TDP ticket dumping Congress on the last day and after the elections, decided to rejoin Congress. But some party leaders objected to this and his induction was postponed by the party high command.

After Jayaprakash Reddy left Congress, his followers Sangareddy municipal chairperson M Vijayalaxmi Ravi, Shaik Saber, municipal councillors and some leaders remained in Congress.

There were rumours that Jayaprakash Reddy himself advised them not to leave the party. It is believed that he has a strong cadre in Sangareddy constituency and that is the main reason for taking him back into the party.

Former deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarsimha showed willingness to take him back into the party but DCC president V Sunita Reddy was not happy with the decision initially. Later, with pressure from the party leaders, she has obliged.

Recently his followers participated in the farmer’s rally organised by Congress in Delhi. Some Congress leaders opine that after taking Reddy into the party, Congress will get its past glory in Sangareddy.
