HYDERABAD:  Justice MSK Jaiswal of the Hyderabad High Court on Monday dismissed a miscellaneous petition filed by Telangana TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy, prime accused in the cash-for-vote scam, seeking permission from the court to allow him to stay in Hyderabad by relaxing the bail conditions.

On June 30, the High Court had granted conditional bail to Revanth Reddy, Bishop Harry Sebastian and R Uday Simha who are accused in the case. The Court directed that Revanth shall confine himself to his constituency (Kodangal in Mahabubnagar district) and he shall not stay in Hyderabad during his bail period and appear before the ACB whenever his presence is required for investigation besides surrendering his passport before the Special ACB Court.

The MLA now submitted that he has to perform marriage of his daughter in December and also to take care of his business in the city.

While opposing the plea, special public prosecutor for Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau V Ravi Kiran Rao contended that his presence in the city will influence the witnesses in the case as the investigation is in progress.

While dismissing the petition, the judge said that the petitioner has liberty to resume his plea in the month of November.

Dealing with other petitions, Justice Jaiswal relaxed the bail conditions of Bishop Harry Sebastian and Udaya Simha in the case with regard to their appearance before the investigation officer. The Court had earlier directed the duo to report before the Investigation officer of the ACB every day. Now they can appear before the officer thrice a week.
