HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC) has issued orders posting as many as 30 IAS officers as election observers for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections to be conducted next month.
The observers will oversee smooth conduct of poll in the 150 wards of Greater Hyderabad. Besides, 26 senior auditing officials will coordinate with them.
The observers will be provided with gunmen, liaison officers and videographers. They will also be given mobile phones, fax and other facilities, GHMC special officer B Janardhan Reddy has said.
The IAS officers appointed as election observers are G.Ashok Kumar, Vikas Raj, Busani Venkateswara Rao, M.Jagadeeshwar, NV Vishnu, RV Chandravadan, Sabyasachi Ghosh, B.Venkatesham, Sanjay Kumar, Benhur Mahesh Dutt Ekka, Shailaja Ramaiyer, Ahmad Nadee, M Veerabrahmaiah, G.Venkata Rama Reddy, Syed Omar Jaleel, A.Dinakar Babu, Chirstina Z.Chongthu, Jyothi Buddha Prakash, T Vijaya Kumar, B.Bala Maya Devi, Md Abdul Azeem, K Ilambarthi, A Sharath, Gorrela Suvarna Panda Das, M Chinpalal, A Murali, KY Naik, MV Reddy, M Prashanthi and Killu Siva Kumar Naidu.
The officers who are appointed as expenditure observers are Ch Vijay Kumar, P Sudhakar, P Panduranga Rao, Lal Singh, A Sukkaiah, T Venkateswar Rao, Revathi Dedeepya, S Govardhan, N Hema Bhanu and G Deepthi. They will be joined by G Vani, K Jagan Mohan Goud, Yasmeen Sultana, K Parvathi Devi, TK Jayasree, KA Jhansi Sobhan, M Padmaja, B Vilaya Lakshmi, K Lalitha, K Narasimha Murthy, Shahjahan Begum, MA Majeed and B Yadgiri.
Till the issuance of GHMC election notification, citizens can enrol their names in the electoral rolls. So far the civic body has received 3,21,926 claims and 3,04,677 new voters have been enrolled after verification. The remaining 39,368 claims have been rejected. The pending claims would also be cleared shortly, added Janardhan Reddy.
