Tributes Paid to PJR on Death Anniversary

HYDERABAD: : Rich tributes were paid to former Congress MLA, P Janardhan Reddy on his eighth death anniversary here on Monday. AICC secretary and Telangana state incharge Ramachandra Kunthiya, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Rajya Sabha MPs V Hanumantha Rao and Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar, and other senior Congress leaders led the party in paying tributes to the departed leader.

Janardhan Reddy’s son and former MLA P Vishnuvardhan Reddy organised a series of programmes to mark the death anniversary of his father. At a meeting held at People’s Plaza on the Necklace Road, Congress leaders recalled the services of the late leader and the way he endeared himself to the poor and downtrodden by his selfless service.

Speaking on the occasion, Kunthiya said that the party workers should take a oath to take the party forward and strengthen it for which Janardhan Reddy strived. He said that Janardhan Reddy always fought for the rights of poor and was called messiah of poor. As a trade union leader he fought for the rights of the workers and employees. TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy said the party cannot forget the contribution of Janardhan Reddy. He also fought for the welfare of weaker sections of the society. The presence of large number of people at the meeting signifies their love towards the great leader. 

Hanumantha Raod advised Vishnuvardhan Reddy to emulate his father’s qualities and work in tandem with other party leaders.  Former Union minister S Jaipal Reddy recalled the fighting qualities of Janardhan Reddy.

Former MLA P Vishnuvardhan Reddy and son of  P Janardhan Reddy said he would remain in the Congress only. Congress leaders Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Anjan Kumar Yadav, P Vivek, P Sudhakar Reddy and others spoke. 

BJP Promoting Communal Feelings: Cong

Hyderabad: TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that the BJP was trying to derive political mileage by encouraging communal feelings in the country.  Addressing the 131th foundation day of the Congress at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the BJP was working against reservations in employment. Congress party would oppose any move to dilute the spirit of reservations in the country, Reddy said. The TPCC president alleged that the ruling TRS was making all efforts to weaken the Congress in the state. “Every Congress worker should be cautious enough to counter the efforts of TRS,” Uttam said. TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Opposition leader K Jana Reddy, Opposition leader in Legislative Council Shabbir Ali, former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy, MPs V Hanumantha Rao, R Anand Bhaskar, PCC former chief Ponnala Laxmaiah and others were present.
