HYDERABAD: Hopes of a large number of aspirants, who were eager to land a job in Telangana forest department were dashed when they came to know that the information about the department conducting recruitment for thousands of posts, was false.
Besides carrying the incorrect information, some websites also listed down eligibility criteria, selection process, age limit etc for the jobs. Officials from the department clarified that no notification was issued by the department regarding recruitment for forest range officer (FRO), forest beat officer (FBO), forest section officer (FSO)and several other posts. Alerted by the aspirants about the false news, the forest department officials informed the Cyber Crime Police about the mischief.
Dismissing the false posts in the websites, officials said that proposals to fill vacant posts is awaiting approval and the proposals were sent for clearance two months ago.
“Unless the proposals are cleared, we cannot fill the posts. The posts of FRO are filled by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) those of FBO and FSO are done by the department,” said A K Srivastava, additional principal chief conservator of forests (APCCF), administration wing of the Telangana forest department.
“We did not issue any such notification. We informed Cyber Crime police about this, and requested them to investigate the issue,” said M Prudhvi Raju, APCCF, IT wing of the department.
