Telangana to Ban Child Pornography Websites

HYDERABAD: Telangana government has decided to ban all child pornography websites soon. IT minister KT Rama Rao said the state government was intended to implement the provisions of the Central IT Act strictly. ‘’We will ban the pornographic sites. We will take stern action against such ISPs and they will be taken to task,” the minister said. Banning of pornographic sites was imperative, he added.

On the new IT policy of the state, the minister said the draft policy was ready and it was vetted by Nasscom vice-president BVR Mohan Reddy and other IT personalities. They made some suggestions and the IT department was considering them.

‘’The new IT policy will be placed, whenever the next Cabinet meeting is held,” he said.

Refusing to disclose the salient features of the IT policy before the Cabinet nod, the minister assured that the MSME sector in the IT would be taken care of.

Rama Rao dismissed the reports that the work in ITIR was going slow. The government was expediting all the IT projects, he added.

Asked about chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s foreign visits, Rama Rao said that the chief minister would tour Gulf, US and other countries.
