HYDERABAD: With an aim to increase the strength and durability of structures, the Gujarat State Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd (GSFC) has launched two products GUJCON-CRF/PRF here on Friday.

According to the makers, just 100 gm of Gujcon CRF and PRF per 50 kg bag of cement will enhance the strength of the structure. It will also help in the reduction of plastic shrinkage, cracks and reduction of water permeability.

Speaking at a road show organised to launch the product, Dr SK Nanda, chairman and managing director, GSFC, said “Just like human beings, buildings should also have immunity to fight cracks, leakage and other problems. Our GUJCON products will bring new revolution in buildings as well as road infrastructure by providing secondary reinforcement in all construction applications,” he said.

“Secondary fibre reinforcement in the construction space is still in a nascent stage in India in comparison with developed countries. But, with increasing level of consumer awareness, its demand is now picking up. We recently exported the first consignment of Nylon-6 to Myanmar and we have geared up to harvest this field of opportunities by offering high quality patented products,” he added. Through a pre-recorded video, actor Akshay Khanna and brand ambassador for the products said “This innovative product by GSFC helps enhance the aesthetic value of a structure by ensuring a better surface finish. Not just that, they help in saving costs by drastically reducing rebound loss.”

Farmer-friendly Urea: Nanda said they were planning to come up with a new type of urea, which would effectively reduce urea consumption and labour cost involved in farming.

“We manufactured a new product by adding two layer coating of castor oil to the urea. This type of urea will last for 90 days, thus reducing urea consumption and labour cost involved. Right now, we are waiting for the Central government’s approval and will release the product into the market once  as approval is sanctioned,” Nanda added.
