HYDERABAD: Launching a full-scale attack on YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday charged the Principal Opposition with trying to destabilise the democratically elected TDP government in the State.
Refuting the claims of the YSRC boss Jagan that TDP bigwigs had bought an extent of 25,000 acres of land in the new capital region as they had prior knowledge of the location of the new capital city, the Chief Minister said the YSRC leaders were levelling fallacious allegations against the government with a sole aim to stall development process in the reorganised State, particularly to throw a spanner in the works of Naidu, "who is trying hard to construct a world-class capital city" for AP.
Naidu warned the YSRC leaders and a media house owned by Jagan Mohan Reddy's family, saying, "The YSRC and Jagan's media house has been tarnishing the brand image of Amaravati and AP by circulating false and fictitious information only to mislead the people. It a serious crime. Government is thinking about how to deal with them as per law. Soon, we will issue notices to Jagan's media house. It will be taken over by the government in the coming days, as it is the property of the people of the State."
In an unprecedented manner, Chief Minister Naidu, who has been in Hyderabad to attend the ongoing budget session of the State Assembly here, on Sunday held a press conference at AP secretariat.
Armed with a set of documents relating to land transactions that had taken place in the Amaravati region so far since bifurcation, the Chief Minister tried give point-by-point rebuttal of the accusations made by the YSRC against him, his son Lokesh, some ministers and TDP leaders with regard to land purchases in the new capital.
Dismissing the allegations of irregularities in the land pooling for the capital as baseless, Naidu said all the transactions in the capital region were legitimate.
