KHAMMAM: The TRS continued its winning spree and wrested the Palair seat as its candidate  Tummala Nageswara Rao won with a majority of 45,682 votes over his nearest rival the Congress party. The TRS won with a thumping majority and it is the highest majority ever in the history of Palair election.

Though it was expected that Congress candidate Ramreddy Sucharita Reddy will give a tough fight, it turned out to be a one-sided affair in favour of the TRS.   As many as 10 independents and CPM candidate Potineni Sudharshan lost their deposits. CPI (ML) New Democracy stayed away for Palair byelection.

Tummala secured 94,940 votes while defeating the main opposition Congress nominee Sucharita Reddy (49,258 votes), who was supported by the TDP and YSRCP.
