Two prisoners escape from Warangal jail

They were shifted from Cherlapalli jail in Hyderabad to Warangal Central jail two months ago. Police is on hunt for them.

WARANGAL: Two convicts escaped Warangal Central Jail in the wee hours of Saturday using bedsheets to scale the wall, a senior officer said.
 
"Rajesh Yadav (27) and Sainik Singh (27) escaped by using their bedsheets as a rope and jumping off the walls of the jail," said G Kesava Naidu, DIG, Jails, Warangal Range.
 
Rajesh, a native of Bihar, was convicted for murder, while Sainik who hails from Uttar Pradesh was convicted under the 1950 Army Act in court martial proceedings.
 
They had been shifted from Hyderabad's Cherlapalli jail only two months ago. A hunt is on for the convicts, said the officer.
